SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS
December 1 “And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service wherein they made them serve, was with rigor.” Exodus 1:14
Our challenge today! What did the Israelites do to deserve this? They were humble people, shepherds by trade, how harmful could they be? In fact it was Joseph the Israelite that was put in charge over the Kingdom of Egypt to distribute food when a great famine was in all the land, thereby saving the Egyptians and all that came. Why did the Israelites come into bondage and affliction causing them to be slaves to the Egyptians? A NEW KING! A new king who knew not Joseph or any of the great things that God did through him. The Israelites committed no crime, didn’t hurt anyone, and were quiet and submissive people towards the laws of the Land just as God had taught them to be. “Why do bad things happen to good people?” That question has been asked a lot throughout history. Not everyone loves our God, not everyone walks by faith, and not everyone is good! That’s why, and Jesus will use it to our good anyway. All Things work to the good for those that love Jesus. |
